After the most hectic of times leading up to it, once Christmas eve arrived we could finally relax. Having spent weeks decorating, tidying, making homemade gifts, on Christmas Eve we were worried whether my Mum would even make it up as she was snowed in. In the end, everyone made it here and we had a very pleasant family Christmas. We didn't end up doing any of the things we'd planned like going to see It's a Wonderful Life at the cameo cinema or seeing a production of Peter Pan at the Lyceum, but in the end, it was just good to have everyone with us safe and sound. We had a Christmas party at ours a few days before Chrsitmas. Lovely to see everyone and i got chance to hand out all the gifts I'd been a busy elf making. And we got to see Keith and Cecilia over from Sweden! I was a lucky, lucky girl again this year and received so many lovely gifts - can't wait for my leather jacket to arrive. We had the most delicious dinner with three roasts!! - turkey, pork and the venison that Dave had butchered the week before (his friend is a gamekeeper) - with fancy stuffings and the scrummiest gravies. So despite all the problems the snow casued it was lovely to go walking in it on Boxing Day. We had a snowball fight in the Botanic Gardens! Lots of cozy time too. I've spent the last couple of days reading Angela Carter, eating my Mum's homemade chocolates and drinking chocolate port (for real). Most welcome slothdom. Hope you all had a lovely festive break.
